Will I Need A Porta-Potty Rental For My Event?
So the most basic question to start with is, will my event have indoor or outdoor restrooms available?
- If the answer to this question is no, then yes, you will need to rent porta-potties.
- If the answer to this question is yes, then your next question should be how many people are attending and how many working restrooms are available? We previously posted a nice little chart that gives you the number of attendees, the duration of the event, and the number of restrooms you will need. That chart will provide you with a sense of whether you will have enough toilets for your event.
- If there is a significant difference between the number of restrooms available and the recommended number, we suggest renting a portable toilet.
Something else you may want to consider is whether you will have any attendees with special needs coming to your event. For example, individuals with walking impairments and physical disabilities may need wheelchair-accessible or ADA-compliant restrooms. Families with small children may need larger bathrooms as well. Porta-potties can help fill the gap when the types of restrooms you need may not be readily available.
What Types of Events Need Porta Potty Rentals?
Portable restrooms rentals are needed at most outdoor events involving food and drink. We’re talking receptions, parties, food festivals, wine tastings, and farmer’s markets, to name a few. In addition, with many organizations looking to host outdoor events due to the pandemic, corporate events and fundraisers may also need portable toilet rentals.
Portable restrooms may also be needed at outdoor events where food isn’t being served, but people may be there for a little while. Outdoor sporting events such as little league games are a great example of this. Family members may bring their own food and drink and need a place to relieve themselves while watching the game. Likewise, outdoor concerts and pop-up performances are examples of events where food may not be served, but porta-potties are needed.
Road races and fundraiser walks are other types of sporting events that will likely need porta potty rentals. Again, think beyond food service, and consider whether attendees will be outside for an extended period. If that’s the case, then you will likely need a portable toilet rental.
Depending on your location, if you are planning an event in a municipal park or area, you may be required to provide portable restrooms.
