About American SaniCan
American SaniCan is a veteran-owned portable sanitation company based in Portland, Oregon, serving Northwest Oregon and Southwest Washington since 1996.
Our story
American SaniCan was founded in 1996 by a long-time veteran of the sanitation industry, built on a simple idea: show up when you say you will, and leave every unit cleaner than anyone expects. In 2019, new ownership took over with a commitment to reinvesting in the company — in trucks, in units, and in the people who run the routes.
That reinvestment shows. On December 31, 2022, we acquired RonJons Unlimited, adding trucks, portable restroom inventory, and three long-term drivers who know these roads as well as anyone. Today American SaniCan runs a fleet of 4,500+ units across the Portland metro, the Willamette Valley, and Southwest Washington — from downtown high-rise projects to berry farms outside Woodburn.
American SaniCan is a Total Sanitation Services company. Our routes, our dispatch, and our people are all local.
Veteran operated and owned
American SaniCan is owned and operated by Jeremy Inman, who enlisted in the US Navy in 1990 and served through 1998 — an Operation Desert Storm veteran who served aboard the aircraft carrier USS Ranger (CV-61). The habits that run this company — early mornings, checklists, no excuses — came from that deck.
